A headline is airing in the mainstream media right now that Beijing threatened a Conservative MP in The Canadian House of Commons’s family. Upon analysis of the exchange between the MP in question, Michael Chong, and member of Justin Trudeau’s cabinet Melanie Joly in this video:

I can definitively tell you based on personal knowledge that this allegation is part of an obfuscation scheme. The exchange seen in the video is a scripted drama class taken to theatre rendition. They’re brazenly to those in the know performing theatre, and then they’re summoning a Chinese diplomat to respond to this and it’s obviously going to lead to no where if they are left to their own avail. Just because Michael Chong is participating in a theatrical rendition of his family being threatened certainly does not mean that they are not actually being threatened though. It’s like “make it look like you’re in on it, people are watching.” The thing is as well though, this is a very serious allegation. If such an allegation were true, which it is—though it’s unclear if CSIS is also participating in the theatre and created a false lead on something that’s really happening (it’s interesting too, because the Michael Chong said the head of CSIS is the source of the intelligence)—the constitutional procedure is to tap our allies and forcibly dissolve Canadian Parliament and remove the Prime Minister and Governor General. And though this may very well be a bad lead and there is certainly a theatrical element in the way it was presented in Canadian Parliament to try and obfuscate the truth of what’s really happening, such an allegation is going to draw a lot of attention. Thus far they have been able to keep all of their investigations to be left to their own avail, but with the attention that such an allegation is going to draw from the international community and wide spread public, it’s a matter of when, not if, somebody’s going to dig deeper into this one, and time is running out.
